Quail Hunting

Quail Hunting Michigan

Quail hunting is different than chukar or pheasant, in that the birds hold and fly differently. Quail will typically hold tight in their position, then burst up and away. Quail don't get up high like pheasants and chukars.

Because of this quail flight behavior, hunting them is potentially more dangerous, especially for those inexperienced hunting quail. Do to this, extra precaution is necessary.

Don't be surprised if your quail hunting guide doesn't book your hunt right away. Most guides will want to see you and your hunting partner in action before agreeing to a quail hunt. Some guides may not care at all, but the ones with experience will definitely want to know first hand how you hunt and anyone you might want to hunt quail with you.
